Default CD skipping

For some reason the CD player is very sensitive to scratches. CDs that play in my Lincoln hardly play in the GS. But those that play sometimes get stuck once past half of the CD.

Today I burnt a new CD and even with no scratches, out of 18 songs only 8 would play, 8-18 would have trouble. This doesnt happen with all CDs i burn.

Should I bring down the speed of burning? I use Memorex Cds.

Thanks

CDs usually get messed up after having contact with higher temperature (heater, baked in the car with the sun...
etc) and it would start to skip or don't work. But since it works in other cars and even a new CD wouldn't work does sound strange. I would try burning at a slower speed and see If it works. Good luck!

look at your cd if it has any deep scratches? To test it out, I would burn an audio cd without any scratches to test out if it is your cd or your head unit. I hope this helps.

Strange... pretty much any CD I throw in my GS works without issue...
