Default 2008 GS450h - any way to cut reflection from the dash

I am talking about the Leather?/vinyl? dash. After I conditioned the black dash, the reflection off the windscreen is very distracting. I don't want to put a rug over it, is there a leather product that makes a matt, no shine surface?

Cheers!

I had the same thought a week ago after armor-alling my dash and driving around in the AZ sun. It was quite unbearable I must say.

Learned my lesson from before on other cars, no more Armor-All or similar goop on my dash. Plus if you need to stick something on the surface (the peel-n-stick Garmin GPS mounting plate, for example) it's a permanent no go, stuff never comes off, soaks deep into the vinyl.

Something like the Dash-Mat may be your only alternative for now. The custom-sewn ones for specific cars fits perfect and actually can look attractive, plus prevents sun damage (the original reason we use those protectant goops) as well as keeps down the chemical that seems to aerate up out of the vinyl and causes the oily haze that sticks to the inside of the windshield.

I use http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotiv...tectant-16-oz/ It doesn't give that nasty armor all shine.

Dont use armor all on the interior. Why people use it on the inside is a mystery to me anyhow. Dealers use this stuff drenching the interiors with it as if it will sell the car faster.

Anyhow, Use some damp cloth to wash away the armor all from dash. It will go away.

don't use armor all. They are the worst when it comes to protection and etc. I personally use Mother's Protectant and loving it: no shine..

I did that once, and learned from it. Now I just a damp cloth to wipe away the dust and stuff.

I noticed the same thing when I picked up my GS two weeks ago. I normally used Adams Leather and Interior Protectant, gives a nice dull shine without that high gloss look to it.

Try polarized sunglasses.... works wonders with the Lexus windshield.... The middle speaker grill usually reflecting right back at just disappears!!!
