90K Service/Timing Belt...Mileage vs time
CL Members,
I have a 2006 GS 300 with 75k miles on it. My car will be 6 years old this fall but will only be at around 80k miles.
The manual says to do the major service at 90k miles or 72 months. I won't hit 90k miles for another 1 to 1.5 years.
Is that too long to wait being the car would be 7+ years old to do the timing belt. What about my extended warranty; will that be affected if I don't do it at 72 months?
Thanks

Hi oilnewby,
I am a newbie myself and I have the same yr/model car as you. If I am not mistaken our cars have a timing chain, not a belt. I checked the maintenance schedule for our cars and it does not state anything about changing a TB at 90k. You may want to double check on this.

Don't know if this will work, but this is directly from the Lexus.com website where I have my car registered.
