Default NAV/DVD hack switch, tips

First off thank you to whoever did the write-ups. Followed those and it helped a lot. For those of you who haven't done it yet or are questioning to do it, just a couple things to help with the nav/dvd hack. First off, it is a very easy mod.

I use to solder all my connections in previous cars but this time I tried using insulated butt connectors. Very easy to do, no soldering required, and is durable. Thats what I would recommend.

I couldn't find a nice switch that will fit in the center console so I purchased this one from Fry's and just took it apart. The good thing about this switch is that I didn't have to make a perfect hole in the blank, just had to be close enough to snap the switch in.

The end result

I wasa bout to post a thank you thread also, till I saw yours. I really appreciate the write up, I also completed the DIY this past weekend. I have a 10hr roadtrip Thursday night, so the wife wanted to take my car to watch movies instead of her Fusion.

I went a different route with the button; I purchased one from Radio Shack, and installed it inside the coin holder (I never used it anyways). Im pretty happy with the result, it sits nice and flush.
