Default XM OEM radio volume too soft

I bought an XM OEM radio from sewell. Sharkfin already on my car. Guy down the street who installs radios couldnt get it to work. The Lexus dealership got it to work, however they said the install was very difficult and they had to do a modification to get it to work.

I'm happy it works but my gripe is that the sound volume is very low. You barely hear anything till you turn it up to 30... When you max out at 64, its loud, but probably 3x less so than compared to FM or AUX connection. My car is a 2008 Lexus GS AWD with pioneer system.. Any ideas?>

The install was difficult?? I installed a factory XM unit in my GS350 and had no idea what I was doing when I started. After getting started, it was one of the easiest installs ever. Why did they have to do a modification on a factory unit that is plug and play?? My volume is just as loud as any other source.

The guy down the street thought that the connections were not the right fit to the amp. Even though I had the right part numbers and everything. Do you think I can take it back to Lexus for an adjustment? Or would that just cost me more?

If I'm not mistaken they have two different XM tuners....one for ML and one for standard....are you sure you got the right one?

Yeah, we double-checked the parts numbers and I did not accidentally get the ML...

I know the work is warrantied by lexus (although the radio is not as I bought it from Sewell). I wonder if i should take it back.
