As said above, mixing synth with synth is fine, and mineral with mineral - just don't mix synth with mineral unless in an emergency to get you to somewhere where the car can be fixed and oil drained/refilled.

Still, it's not advised to do that, and I never use anything besides FULL Synthetic. I dont believe nor do I ever endorse half synthetic brands. It's either do it right the first time or don't do it at all ![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Yes, thanks Boron
One should never entrust their engines in that half/half garbage.

Hydrocracked "synths" are alright, but if you want better protection, etc then it's hard not to opt for the likes of Redline, Motul, Eunos, etc, with their POA/Ester base.
Bit of a waste if you adhere to the outdated and old-fashioned principle of changing oil every 3-5K miles, unless you're annual mileage is under 10K of mainly short journeys.
If you drive a fair bit each time, then the oil isn't as stressed, so the 10K/12 month annual service is more than adequate, and nets you full value for the cost of the better oil used.
I'd still opt to flush the oil, even though synths are much less prone to sludging up, etc like dino (mineral) oil does.
