Cool Custom USB Socket

Hi everyone!

New user here... Got tons of info from this site in the past few weeks of owning my first Lexus, so I figured I'd share mine...

I bought a Vais VML last week and installed it yesterday. I chose a slick spot for the USB socket. Check it out:

Intresting, not sure I would put it there but, nicely done. How long did that take you to make, and do you have any problems or is it running smooth.

To each his own but I think it looks like crap. The edge of the cut is rough and degrade the elegant look of the dash of the car.
What's wrong with plugging the USB stick in the port in glove box?

I could've spent another 40mins and polished the edge, but only had an hour. It works perfectly. What's wrong with the location?

It looks a bit off, but if you like it that's all that matters. Welcome

Wow, that looks hideous. Why do people feel the need to go outside the box, literally. The glove box or center console are the perfect choices. Why would you want to expose that connection anyway??? Do you think it's nice to look at?

Everyone has their opinion, but as long as you are happy with the location that is all that matters. The only downside is that you can't reverse what you did if you change your mind down the road.

At least it's not going to cost a fortune to replace the vent, if he wants to bring it back the the original look. I agree, it looks too home-made. Also isn't there a risk of accidentally hitting that USB stick and breaking it off?
