DIY parking sensor replacement
Hey guys. While drivnig on the highway this morning, a rock hit one of the parking sensors in my front bumper and made a nice little indentation in it. It seems to be working okay, but I'd still like to replace it because it looks terrible. I've done several searches, but can't seem to find a DIY for this. A few questions:
Is the sensor two pieces? In other words, if the sensor is still working, can the painted cap/cover be replaced without replacing the whole sensor aseembly? If not, then obviously the whole sensor needs to be replaced.
In either case, has anyone replaced a front sensor on their car who could chime in and let me know how it's done? I know quite a few people out there have had issues with their sensors, so I'm thinking someone must have done this before. Can it be done without taking off the bumper by reaching up underneath the car behind the bumper?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
