Default 2006 GS300 AWD Shocks & Struts (Replacement)

I have a 2006 GS300 AWD with 70K miles on it. I do a lot of city driving and I notice now how my front left side is making a squeeking noise when i come to a stop and am going over a bump, hole, etc. Does anyone know when these need to be replaced and the brand that is best to replace the OEM's with?

Thanks so much.

Also, is there a thread on here specifically for this?

70k is kinda quick for the struts to wear out, but i guess it can be normal depending on road/driving condition. There are a used set FS in the classifieds from a 2006 with 40k miles on them if you are interested.

It'd be unlucky if it was a shock absorber on the way out.
More likely though, it's a front anti-roll bar bush or a bush on the lower or upper control arms.
Get it up on a ramp, and use a crowbar to put some leverage on the bushes in question.
10-15 min job by a competent mechanic will diagnose which one it is, and from there you can look into costs to put right.

its not unlikely for a strut/shock to go. there is no set time limit as it takes into account your driving habits and road conditions. some can last 100k some last 60k.

Yes, but Lexus probably have higher mileage than most before the shock gives out.
Like I said, getting it on a ramp and a bit of jiggery pokery with a big stick, will soon reveal what's going/gone, rather than guessing that it might be this or that, or even the other.

true and a simple press down on each corner will be a quick test
