Hey guys,
About a month ago I bought an 06 GS300, one owner, all server records (all done at Lexus) with 56k miles. The car is in almost new condition.
Yesterday, I was entering the interstate from an on-ramp and noticed the car would not shift out of 4th gear. I switch to sport mode and even though up shifted to 6th, the car didn't change gears. Luckily, I was close to the next exit and came to a complete stop. When I pulled away the second time, everything shifted a normal.
I called the local Lexus dealer when I got back to the office and found out the 72mo/70k drive train warranty expired about two weeks ago
However, the SA said that since it was only a couple of weeks out and all the service had been done at Lexus, they could probably help me if something was found to be going bad.
Anyway, I took it into the dealer later that afternoon. They pulled code P0751 from the PCM, but could not duplicate the issue. They performed a "Shift Enhancement" ( I assume this was a firmware update to the PCM) and charge me a check out fee. They told me the PCM was reset and would learn my driving habits over the next couple of weeks.
The "Shift Enhancement" sounds like Bravo Sierra to me. Needless to say, I am worried this is going to turn into something major.
Anyone ever see this before?

Sorry to hear about your car, but a 6 year old car with no original warranty and not a CPO cannot be considered a" like new car". Mechanical things do go wrong. Hope it turns out to be something simple to fix.

Thanks for the information guys.
Once I hit the interstate and noticed the car was not shifting, I used manual in an attempt to get the car to a proper gear for 65mph.
The Shift Solenoid A fault (P0751) is bit concerning.
