trying to decide between identically equipped 2006 GS.
one is 430 one is 300.

i've been reading everything there is to read but curious from club members who may have driven both.

any feedback greatly appreciated.

any reasons besides the extra power?

is the power difference that noticeable?

the appealing thing about the 300 i'm looking at is its AWD, has the exact color combo i want (which i've had a really hard finding) and is being sold from a toyota dealership.

Yes the difference is very noticeable. When I changed from my GS 300 to the GS 450h I felt the power difference. The car is just underpowered which I had a problem when I owned it, don’t get me wrong it has good power to pass if needed but it just isn’t up to par with other vehicles in this class.

i'd say 300, times are friggin tough mang! If I could go back I would of ogtten the GS300 in glacier frost mica, black on black navi and ML.

What are the differences in miles and price?

When it comes down to it both are fun to drive and I believe the V8 is only a few ticks quicker than the V6 when timing 0-60. The added weight of the 8 slows the car a bit, although it "feels" like your going faster.

I would recommend going for what suits you best! If the 6 cyl has all the colors/packages you want you won't loose any sleep over the added power. 450h is a bit different, If you can deal with the loss in trunk space I would go with the hybrid!

I too would go for the 430. Don't forget about the bigger brakes on the 430!

the 430 engine is a bullet proof engine, and besides the power, it's also smoother

It doesn't just feel quicker, it IS quicker. Before I bought my 430, I drove the 300 and when accelerating in stop and go traffic, it crawled in comparison to the 430.

Also, as mentioned above, the 430 is bulletproof.

the gs300 is listed at 20K with 91K miles.
the 430 is listed at 23.9K with 85K miles.

they are identically equipped.

only thing i like about the 300 is its AWD and obv better gas milage.
but i'm leaning towards the V8.

If you don't absolutely need the AWD, I'd suggest the 430; you won't regret it.

you think 23.9K + tax and fees for 06 430 with 85K miles is a good deal?

there are so few of them for sale in CA that its hard to really exert any leverage.

Go 430! Gs300 is slooooow.

430 is faster, sits lower, has better looking wheels, has 2 suspension modes, better breaks. Motor is very dependable.
Fuel economy is not the best, and don't forget timing belt change at 90k miles that can cost $800-1900 depending where you do it.
I'd go with 430. It's the top of the line model . Always go for the best. Life is short.
Unless you drive a lot during the week, and gas price is an issue.

Thats too high.
I got mine in December for 22.9 with 67 k miles in mint like new condition in and out. Lexus records since day one.

You should get it for 19-20.
300 is way overpriced.
