Default Auto wipers switched to intermitten?

The owners manual says there is a way to do this. I had the windshield replaced and they put on a windshield without the rain sensors so now the auto feature doesnt work. I dont feel like having the windshield pulled back out again and I never cared for the auto feature either. Does anyone know or has anyone had the auto wipers switched to Intermitten? does it have to go to the dealer?

Thanks in advance

Yeah, I think you'll have to go to the dealer and tell them to turn it to intermittent in the LPS.

Agreed, but if a company broke your sensor or forgot to install it, it is their duty, and full responsibility of the installer to RE-INSTALL the sensors in the car since it was in working order before.

I use to be lazy too, up until I learned that not everything is free, and when it's not free, it needs to be done RIGHT!

no i think there are two types of windshields, one for auto rain sensors, one without. it's not something you install on the windshield after the fact. the one with sensors is more expensive. so it seems like OP installed one without sensors and he wants to turn off the system. given the price difference, i am not sure if the installer installed something "incorrectly"

part of the module is together with the rear view mirror assembly i believe. but i think the windshield itself has to be different and certain parts integrated for rain sensing. i don't know the details, but i remember when i got a crack on my windshield and was having it repaired at the shop, i talked to the guy about replacement and he asked me if i have auto rain sensing, because of price difference. i asked why and he said rain sensing windshield has more parts to it.

would love to know more details though

not sure if this means anything

http://lexus.sewellparts.com/oem-cat...S350-2008.html

there are quite a few options, normal, rain sensing, heated. although don't see rain sensing as more expensive on factory parts

Rain sensor is located right next to the rear view mirror, It attaches to the windshield and all the windshield needs is a little box area for it to sit it. Its not rocket science and I suggest getting a normal windshield.

Rominl if you look from the outside of the car, you will notice a sensor protected by glass around rear view mirror area, that is the sensor.
