My experiences with Continental Extreme DW tires is here:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...reme-dw-8.html

Went with Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position here:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-position.html

I couldn't stand the sing the DW tires emanated, a BIG from me.

BTW, I bought the Continentals from Discount Tire two years ago, they took the tires back and upgraded me to the Bridgestone's for less than $200.00. Continental's customer service was terrible, Discount Tire's was GREAT

I think I'm gonna just go back to stock to see if it's the car. I changed the wheels within a month of purchase and was planning on lowering it. I don't remember if the ride was like this or not but our 2010 TL seats definitely don't vibrate. I would have to pay the shop again to pull out the TPMS sensors and put it back to the stock and rebalance the stock wheels.
I got Vossen because I was gonna lower it. After reading about AWD and lowering and this vibrating issue with the wheels, I don't know if I'm gonna do it.

What are the Road Force Balance numbers? That will tell you what is going on faster than anything else.

My conti's were terrible. Worn out supper fast, loud, road bad, couldn't get them to balance and once the s comes off there aren't even good in wet anymore. I got some toyo's and it's a whole new car. Super quiet, super great ride, balanced good and I've had them on my other car and the thread life is great.

I remember the tech told me the fronts are really low, under 10. But one of the back is in the mid 20s.

Ding! There's your problem!

Normally with a RFB you will get a report... Anything over 15 is a FAIL and most people can feel anything over 11 or 12... Your tech is right, you are looking for single digit numbers.

The next thing the report will show is how much variance each wheel has. That mid 20's number could be either a crummy tire or a out of round wheel.

If your not familiar with what RFB tries to do, they attempt to match the softest part of the side wall with the tallest part of any rim imperfection. It is rarely a "perfect" balance, it is a "best they can do"

For example, if the wheel is perfectly round and the tire has a really bad soft spot then it doesn't matter how they mount it, there is nothing that can be done... As well if the rim is slightly egg shaped and the tire is perfect, nothing will make it better.

If you don't know, or if they didn't give you a report about the rims... You can determine this on your own. If you know at roughly what speed the vibration starts, try adding air pressure to the tire 10-15psi should do it, and see if the speed where the vibration occurs changes. If it does, then its the tires... If it doesn't then I would check the rims.

That trick sometimes works, sometimes doesn't... If you add air and the vibration is still at the same speed, before you change anything else, I would have them check the rims for out of round.
