Default Is wanting a 2010 just for HDD navi stupid?

Hi guys,

I'm looking into the GS450h and I really want a 2010+ more for the HDD navi and tape deck delete than anything else. From what I understand, there isn't much else different in the previous year models. I can obviously get an 07-09 for much less -- is this stupid of me to desire this? Should I just suck it up and get an older model? I know it is difficult (and pricey) for me to upgrade the Navi and I know I may really want the HDD, which is why I'm asking.

it's your personal preference, if you like it, then you get it. You'll be driving it for a looong time, not us! So i'd say go for it

I almost traded in my car just for the ML upgrade. Should of bought it from the get go. It's your choice, but don't regret it later like I am.

its absolutely not silly to factor this in and if you can afford it i would def go for the '10.

you use the navi unit a ton (not just for the navigation) and there is a big difference between the HDD and the older.

I believe the the Lexus gen 6 navi in the gs no longer uses the digital cable that was licensed by Sony
and they switched back to a 4 or 5 wire RGB which is analog.

some one correct me if I'm wrong but this is what my sources tell me.

I guess I would compare the gen 5 and gen 6 with dvd quality and see which is better.

Digital is clearer when using the rear camera but I can see your point when it comes to the navigation or other info options the navi screen is used for.

Ahhh! Gotcha, what about DVD movies, should it be clearer upon watching too on these digital screens? Reason why I ask is because it tickles my fancy. On my 10.1in Netbook, I can barely tell the difference between HD movies and regular movies hehe.

Yes it is stupid... i'm stupid too. LOL but it's only a want. I won't do it. Better get a tablet or some other bigger better screen, and more portable than the nav that stuck to the car and the engine need to be running or else you will drain that battery and need a jump.

Go for it! Since you're buying used, the 1st owner already took most of the hit in price already. I don't know how much the difference is but you're probably paying half of the difference.
Better to do it and regret it than not to do it and regret it.
