Default 2nd gen GS300 vs 3rd gen GS300

I'm looking into a 3rd generation GS300. I've driven and become very familiar with a 2001 gs300 but it's definitely pretty sluggish seeing that it's an 8 second car. The brakes are nice, I like the way it rides, the fit and finish etc. but is the 2006 GS300 this slow?

Here's the one I've been driving

it's SLIGHTLY faster, probably not noticeable. I believe the hp difference is only ~25

Hold out for a 350 if you need more power

when i was in high school i really wanted a 2nd gen GS, i test drove one and the seat actually felt better than the 3rd gen GS, but handling wise is pretty floaty and feels like the car will understeer or roll.. never try gunning it so i can't tell you much here

now I finally end up with a 3rd gen GS450 Hybrid, seat is really firm -__- but handling is really sweet and 0-60 in 5.2second and no, GS450 does not save gas
