Question 2009 GS350 - can remote link to driver's seat memory?

I just picked up a 2009 GS 350 but came with the 2010 manual. According to the 2010 manual, the wireless remote key can be linked to the driver's seat memory.
However, for the light of me, I could not link & I followed the instruction to the T.
Now, this leads me to a doubt that MAYBE, just MAYBE this feature is a new added feature starting 2010 model year but not in 2009 models.

Was any 2009 GS 350 owners able to program your remote to the driver's seat memory, so when you open with your remote and as you open the door, the driver's seat memory is recalled automatically?

My 2007 manual showed that as a feature but I honestly never tried to program it when I owned it since I was the only one who drove it. So no, it's not new.

I'm not sure if you got the answer yet but i just did this to my 2008 gs and I'm assuming that its the same with the 09. Anyway here are the steps from the 08 manual its on page 48 in case your wondering.

Step 1 - Set the driving positions into the memory system using the "1", "2" or "3" buttons on the driver's side

step 2 - Turn the "ENGINE START STOP" switch to the OFF, then close the driver's door.

step 3 - Push the "1", "2" or "3" button on the driver's side and the unlock button on the wireless remote control at the same time for about 1 second until you hear a beep.

step 5 - Open one of the doors.

I have a 07 ES350 and i was reading the manual i know 2 different car's the GS and ES but id think the operation programming would be the same

so i looked in my owners manual and was having the same issues
it won't program

what im doing is i have the car set to off
door closed hold the number 1 button on the door for memory number 1 and also press in the buttons on the remote i have tried both the Unlock and the lock
the only beeps i hear are when i touch the remote button and it tries to lock the doors i here it beeping to let me know the key is still in the car
and when i unlock it i her a beep for when unlocking
but it doesn't save the memory position

what am i doing wrong ?

Click and hold the seat position (let's just say #1) button 1 while at the same time, clicking and holding unlock on the keyfob... Click and hold at the same time until you hear the beep the car normally makes when you are setting seat position. It can take a few times but just sit there and keep trying it.

Holding lock while attempting this procedure will remove the link between the remote and the seat position so make sure you are holding unlock.

Also remember that you actually have to set the position in memory before you try to link it... I know everyone probably knows this but it doesn't hurt to just leave that tip here.

I made a video on how to do it, it was kind of hard holding the phone and doing the process but hopefully the video makes sense. Make sure the car is off and all the doors are closed.

t is important that you hold your key fob not more than couple of inches away from the door buttons, just like on the video above.
