Gotcha...so the car ISN'T CPO correct? Because i just realized that an 2007 wouldnt qualify as a CPO due to being more than 3yrs old. Thats a pretty good interest rate on the loan though.

you usually don't say much... other than, "no thanks - here's my realistic number" (and shoot below your actual # - not absurdly below but lower - but know the numbers behind it) and then say "call me when you want to discuss it earnestly". Then walk out. Keep in mind, the used mkt is upside down right now and all over the place b/c of all limited supply (minimal sales and leasing was done 2 and 3 years ago due to economy/financials and limited new production (including natural disasters, etc.). You can actually find better deals on new cars right now than on used ones.

Anyhow, remember car buying is at the very finest a "game". However, they are professionals who play it every day... you maybe once every 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or + years. They need to make money too so be realistic but most importantly know your numbers as there is plenty of information out there.

If i sold the car a year from now with 10k more miles on the odo and 4 years or 125k miles left to the warranty, i venture to say i could get at least 26k from a private buyer. Which would mean ive essentially leased the car for 360 a month w no down payment. This is only a hypothetical, but i see what private buyers are selling theirs for and even what dealerships are selling gs350s w ultra high miles. I dont disagree that i may have left something on the table, but i also think the downside risk or intrinsic loss on a luxury cpo w warranty intact for 5 years is minimal. But i do find it interesting when people online say they are breaking even when they flip their cpos..i guess these would be good friends to have when going to the dealership.
CPO, though sounds like you have an aftermkt warranty, really only "costs" ~ $1500 tops. Some people try to say plus parts but in most cases the parts were going to be added anyway to make the vehicle sell-able so it's minimal and already built into the equation (from the wholesale side). Even w/ luxury cars like BMW CPO is only $1,500 and for Porsche it's ~ $2,200 max regardless of what a salesman tries to tell you otherwise about it's "value"..

Now I'm getting confused... Did you lease it or buy it? Actually, it doesn't matter...

Instead, we've had a nice thread that's come full circle... Refer back to my post #2. However, you insisted on opinions, which you've readily gotten, and now want to defend your "deal". It's a moot point. Did you get the best "deal"... frankly, no. Is it the worst... no as well. Next time, consider soliciting pricing help before you buy and you'll get this same information which you can use on the front side to negotiate.

Good luck and I truly hope you enjoy your new car!

PS - Now post up some darn pictures and start modding it already!

For some of you who recieved a "4-6k" discount and traded in a vehicle......

they stole your trade basically and hid some of the loss. Something you would never know or see but as long as you get to that magic figure, who cares how the numbers are worked around.

I have a car dealer, we basically OVERallow or UNDERallow and absorb some of the price discount. Simple. 29k is definitely on the high end. 25-26K would be the figure. Here in Colorado atleast. Each state literally varies.

I recently bought a 2008 GS350 w/ Nav on 3/31/12 and paid $32k before tt&t, dealer fees and GAP insurance. I got the CPO w/ 3yr or 100k warranty and 2.9% financing. Original price was $29K, but I had them CPO the car for a better interest rate and extended warranty. The car had 20k miles on it when I bought it. Brand new brakes and tires were put on the car during the CPO process, plus touch paint(Matador Red)
