For all of you out there who drive your GS in snow AND have snow tires, what set up are you using? I currently have 18" g-spiders with Pilot Sport A/S's, and am debating whether to buy a second set of 18" 5-spokes or the 17" 7-spoke rims from the 08+ GS350. Snow tires are less expensive in 17" as opposed to 18", and I wouldn't mind the softer ride for the winter, but I do like the look of the 5-spoke 18s and wouldn't mind having those on the car for a few months during the winter.

Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

if yoru buying rims 17 will perform better in the snow but I had snow tires on my G-Spyder rims also located in IL myself.

 

I also have snow tires on my stock 18s. It's a bit more expensive but looks better than the 17s for sure.

 

Snow tires for the 18s will be about $250 more for the set than snow tires for the 17s. Also, like I said before, the 17s will provide a better ride quality, and will also probably handle a bit better in the snow.

Let me ask this. Has anyone out there ever run 17s on a 06+ GS4x0? I don't think I've ever seen it.

 

Yes people have run 17" rims on the GS just have to make sure that the rim clears the front BBK. I had an IS350 with 17" snow tires and they share the same bbk do u will be fine and I will suggest that over 18

 

And what about the fact that I like the stock 5-spoke 18s over the stock 7-spoke 17s? I hate making decisions.
