Default updating 08 GS head/tail lights

Has anyone tried or thought of modifying the look of their headlights to the modern "dotted" LED lights? Or is that just a cheesy move?

I think i've seen a few Japanese enthusiastic that have done it, where they complelete reconstructed the headlight assembly.
In my opinion though, that's Audi's signature, and i would leave that to Audi. Its like the Angel Eyes on the BMW's, its there signature, but when you see it on a honda civic, you can't help but giggle a little.
Like i said though its just my opinion, if you have a idea in mind and think it would look good in your eyes, by all means go for it! Don't let others opinions, judge your taste!

Whenever I've seen someone add it to their car, whether its lexus or bmw or whatever, it looks cheap and cheesy.

I wouldnt do it. The shape of the head lights wont match the led lighting. Most cars that come with them from the factory have a straight or flat bottom piece.

if you can imitate the O.E. Lexus DRLs, by all means GO FOR IT! I've yet to see it modified to our cars, but if you can manage to stand out, i'd totally love to learn and do the same project

I'm not sure exactly what dotted leds you're talking about, but I put a strip of leds on my headlights and just plainly god ridiculed by most of my friends. Needless to say, I left them on, F those guys! J/k, I took them off.

Yeah, it could be tacky, but in the in end, it only matters what you like. The problem with the strips is that the color is too blue or purple in some instances. Also, there's like a pandemic of them out there ever since Audi introduced the idea. LED strips are now a dime a dozen, and unfortunately you risk the stigma of ghetto and tacky when applying them. But as I had said, F those foos! If you like em, then sport em. If you don't they peel off like stickers. Here's my tacky application attached. It was a dumbed down version of what I wanted. I was going to find a way to retrofit some real leds into the headlight, but just never came around to doing it. They're extremely bright at night, but fail to function as true DRLs in the daylight.

Yes I did. See below my reply. Also, I go these a couple days ago to mess with. Tinkering with them before I do a serious led retrofit for my other car. They definitely sparked my curiosity, and the price tag was well worth the try.
