Try to get a 07+ if you can, the Nav/head unit alone is worth it IMO and the newer engine is also worth it... Also many reported that 06 GS has a lot more rattles than the 07 (fixable problem but why the hassle...)

Well, the 350 is a bit more powerful with not much given up on mpg, plus being 07, would have the 5th Gen Navi screen.
As always buy not on price or mileage, but condition and service history, making sure all recalls/TSBs have been done.
On a well maintained engine and car, 100K is nicely run in, and good for another 100-150K if properly looked after.

They're going to be rarer, given it was only available for the one year, before Lexus dropped it in favour of importing the 350 instead.

2006 is gen 4 vs gen 5 in 2007+. Resolution and interface... Etc are a night and day difference. Also if you are looking to add an iPod / iPhone / android integration, the ml+ unit from vaistech only works with gen 5 and up

My 2006 GS300 is great, but I would advise anyone to get the 2007+ due to the above mentioned reasons. Navi and more HP. As far as rattles, I have none with my 2006 GS300 and none with my 2010 GS350.

Yea it's just hard to find one for under 20k with under 100k miles it wouldn't be right to buy a car with over 100k for that price

I've found plenty of 2006 gs300 s for around 18k with 60k to 80k miles, any of the gs430 s and gs350 s are all in the 20k range and they have 100k plus miles should I save up more or just get the gs300 my max at the moment it's around 19k I need a car within the next week or two, or is 100k miles not bad on these cars? thanks for all the info

If properly maintained, there should be no worries, this car has been pretty reliable. But budget is also very important, I think it all comes down to how much more important is the extra hp and the Nav unit (with the option to install iPod integration) to you. Are the extra price worth it. In the end, you are getting a very nice car either way. Good luck!

On the gs300 can you get like and extra 50 hp by getting an exhaust, intake, and chip? The thing is if I get the gs300 I'll have extra money for wheels, and other aftermarket parts I really want the gs350 but just outside my budget at the moment ill have to think quick

No chance of getting anything remotely like 50 bhp from intake, exhaust, and chip (not that a chip for the GS exists), more like 15-20, but at least the 350 can use the F-sport air filter.
Forget about customising the car - you want the 350, go buy a 350 then. In time, you can modify it as funds become available.
