Buying a 2006 GS300
I'm looking to get a gs300 within a few weeks here my price range is 16k to 18k and I live in mn so we do get some snow, but I'm still leanin toward the rwd vs awd, the mileage was ranging from 75k to 100k,I'd just like to hear opinions on awd vs rwd and any other info would be nice this will be my first lexus and just love the way the gs's look thanks

If you are planning on lowering it... get a RWD.
For pretty much everything else, get an AWD. Find a clean one that has been loved and you'll enjoy it.

If you're going to be driving in snow absolutely get the AWD. I've had both and the RWD GS was the worst handling car I've ever driven in the snow, and I live in PA where we don't get as much snow as you do in MN.

Ii think I'm gonna go with the rwd gs300 I'll just put some blizzaks on and I should be ok, I've been driving a dodge charger for the past 2 years, I'm gonna have to fly down south or to the west to get a rwd, any thing I should look for in the car like issues? And do these motor/transmissions last? I've seen some with 240k

I would also like to suggest the GS450h or the V8 versions on this car. If trunk space isn't a issues I would definitely get the 450h if it's in your budget. They only come in RWD BUT they also comes with a system called VDIM (search it up on YouTube and there is a person doing a comparison between VDIM and the normal traction and stability systems, and VDIM blew them away especially in icy/snow situations). There is also a thread of a person comparing the AWD vs RWD WITH VDIM and they also agreed that the RWD with VDIM out performed them, except getting traction from a stand still. I personally drove my GS450h in the Canadian winter for a 1000km road trip, with winter tires that had barely any thread left still performed very well in snowy / icy situations. So it's something to think about, good luck
