To my understand XM and Sirrus merged. So one isn't better than the other. The stations are the same for either system.

Which is better?........XM or Sirius?

Can I put both Ipod integration & Satelite radio in together under just 1 unit with VAIS?

I don't need Ipod video.

Thanks.

2) sl3i

you can daisy chain the units together. did a few and they work perfectly
Why do you recommend the SL3i over the MML?

Mel is digital. You can use USB as well. And technically better sound quality. But in reality a lot of my customers they can't hear any difference between the two. And sl3i is cheaper as well. Also the box is smaller so a bit easier to install

The price difference is only $50 right now. Is there any reason not to get the MML over the SL3i? I like the idea of having a USB connection as it would potentially allow for a longer life (ability to connect future devices through software/firmware updates).

I appreciate your input rominl!

i would put it this way. all my clients who got the mml (used to be vml) because they want the usb connection (directly with usb sticks). otherwise for those who only care about having ipod connection, they ended up going with the sl3i and saved a few bucks. like i said, sl3i box is smaller so installation can be a little easier.

you have a good point too, mml firmware update is easier. but so far none of my clients with sl2i-up (replaced by sl3i) ever need firmware updates.

to be fair, with the iphone5, i see another potential benefit of the mml, which is the connector. anyone with sl2i-up and sl3i, they will need to get the adapter, which apple sells for 30 bucks now. with the mml, you can just use the new lightning cable and you are done (granted you have a spare of course)
