Default Brake light problems!!!

Hello,

I've got a 2007 GS450H with almost 81k miles on it. The other day I was driving and about 7 lights on my dash came on. ABS, CHECK VSC, tracking control, BRAKES, etc. I took it to my local dealer and they reset the computer because they couldn't find anything wrong. Believe it or not they did not even charge me and gave me a GX460.

However, two days ago all the same lights came back on. So once again I took it in and yesterday they called me and told me I need a new brake actuator and told me it's $2,105. They said I won't lose my brakes but I might lose my ABS and some other safety features.

Well I'm not going to spend $2,105 on my brakes. The car drives great right now. I've been reading some older posts and have heard it might be a "Brake light switch" problem.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Start with replacing the BL switch, it should be easy and not too expensive. If you have to replace actuator (BTW, what is it, part of ABS pump?) check with wrecking yards first, maybe you can find a used one. Here is a good sourse,

http://car-part.com/

look for Anti-Lock Brake Pump, I found bunch of them.
