It's sad that my E38 and my XJ8 have been far better cars than my GS. I used to mess with E46s, good move that you replaced the t-stat, if its an electronically controlled one you want to change them every 2-3 years as they can wipe out the DME.

I take it you've been there done that on lower control arms and lollipop bushings? Avoid the FCP stuff on eBay, hamburg technic is garbage......

next on the list, was hoping to have done before winter but looks like a spring project. I picked this one up used so doing a few things, I probably don't need to given the cars service history, just to play it safe. If we get 3-4 years of use out of it I will be happy. Its sad that this 12 year old car is solid, no rattles, funny noises, and is still connected to the road. My 1 year old Lexus sounded like the interior was falling apart in winter months. Being the LFA isn't in my near future probably won't be considering another Lexus. Also like having this older/beater now for running around and not worrying about door dings and other stuff.

Hope everything else on your plate is moving in a positive forward direction.

Yup, those are solid cars. You got real lucky on water pump. Once in a while, if its got the electronic thermostat, just watch the plug where the harness plugs into the stat itself, the stats can leak there and coolant travels up the harness to the DME, that's bad.

Things getting better... One building should be re habitable within a week, the other is ahead of schedule so hopefully by late this month or early jan. fingers crossed.

Still got a whole mess at the beach though, working with insurance adjuster on the cars, the claim is being investigated because they haven't recovered the cars, yet, if ever. It's routine in cases like mine I've found out.

Apparently classic car ins companies have been scammed by people buying titles to cars that were scrapped decades ago, then titling and registering them, sending them random pics and then claiming the car was stolen.

I recently saw a 58 Chevrolet convertible title for sale.... Those are $100k cars in nice shape.
