Towing Lexus for move to Dallas
Hi; I'm planning a move to Dallas renting a uhaul and possibly going with the option of towing my Lexus gs 350 2009. My questions are:
1. Which tires front or back will get a odometer reading while mounted if any at all?
2. While reading uhaul instructions they say something about driveshaft and being in neutral is not enough. Does anyone have prior experience or knowledge??
Thanks in advance!!!

Depends if it is an awd then it must be flatbeded (uhauls autotransporter)
If it is a 2wd, then you can use a dolly and reverse it onto the trailer. If you tow a 2wd and the drive wheels are on the ground, by putting it into neutral your driveline is spinning with no lubrication. So you risk damaging transmission, etc.
Best option is the flatbed autotransporter if you have are already renting the truck you may aswell get the AT trailer. I think the dollys gor for $45 a day and AT $65
You didnt mention where you are going, But another option is to have a company pick up the car and transport it for you. TX area has a lot of truckers and its pretty cheap to tow a vehicle. If you have a friend with an account with Central Dispatch (a auto transporters truckers) usually car dealers would have this account. I sent a car from TX to FL cost $325

@Arnie Wow good u gave me this info. I probably would of wrecked my tranny smh! Thx alot!
@passnu looks like ill be driving it. Main reason for towing was to cut cost and expenses and also not have my gf have to drive the Lexus. We are already using the uhaul, the Lexus and another vehicle. Thought I would tow to save gas, miles and wear and tear. Also the trip is from Houston to Dallas about 300 miles
@ibidu The trip is from Houston to Dallas. Not too far of a drive but I didn't want my gf to have to drive. We are already using her car with a extra driver to take her back to Houston. Thx alot for ur input ill look into the AT, seems like a option still.
