The car isn't tuned to take advantage of octane ratings that high. It's a waste of money.

Shiver? Absolutely no! Is your GS DFI ( Direct Fuel Injection ) or EFI ( Electronic Fuel Injection ) engine? Because it's not the octane rating that may have affected your car, it is the sulfur content in the type of fuel you used. If your car is EFI, then you shouldn't have any problems.

When you say regular gas, do you mean 93? Because if your car shivers on 91 then understandable, it is knocking and running rough. But the other way around.. doesn't make sense.

If DFI, you may end up clogging your injectors with fuel that contain sulfur.

Our cars are meant to run on 95RON fuel ( which is equal to 93MON in the US ). Unless your vehicle is programmed to advance ignition timing, anything above these ratings won't help you in any department.

Ya, that is another issue with race fuel some clog up your fuel injectors. But, sunoco is good about that. I used to race motorcycles and we would run VP race fuel and after every race we had to empty out the gas tank to remove the race fuel. One day I forgot to empty the tank and the screens in all my injectors were gummed up.
