I've been searching for an '08 GS350 black/black for over a month and am not having any luck.
There are several cars near me in the color and configurations I want but none are at Lexus dealers, which prevents me from purchasing a Lexus extended warranty. Given that they have roughly 75,000 miles, I worry that they will require expensive out of pocket repairs.
Should I take the risk and pick up a GS from a non-warrantied GS from a non-Lexus dealer or should I wait for the right car to show up at a Lexus dealer and buy the warranty?
Thank you.

What about searching further afield, thereby getting what combo you want from a Lexus dealership?
If not, then you should haggle on price to reflect the warranty, although have you checked to see if they don't have a 3rd party warranty?
If they do, have a read over for:
In the event of no warranty, then check service history, and if all Lexus/Toyota dealer stamps, I would be very surprised to learn you couldn't avail of Lexus' own extended warranty.
On what basis are you presuming an extended warranty can't be obtained?
If a gut instinct, then contact Corp and ask them directly, if the car(s) you're looking at on non-franchise forecourts have been serviced in accordance with mileage/age, and even better, through a dealership.
It may require a dealer inspection prior to granting the warranty - which may or may not make the whole process cost effective to bother with.

If they do, have a read over for:
- what's covered and what's not
- how repairs are processed (you pay then reclaim or they deal with the bill directly)
- what restrictions on labour rate they'll cover
