Vaistech or other aux input for 2006 GS430 with ML/Nav

Just for the heck of it, I went out today and bought a Philips cassette adapter at Walmart for $9.xx. I have to say, for ten bucks, it's pretty darn good. I know it's not the same as a direct input, but it's really not all that bad. The main reason I did this is because I wanted to make sure that I would even listen to my ipod before investing in the Vais unit. I've reviewed several installation videos, and I agree with the previous posters that taking apart the center console and removing the head unit is just not that hard. One thing I think I will do when I finally do it is to cover the metal shifter with a ball, sock or some other soft padded object. Knowing my luck, I could totally see poking a hole in the nav screen with the bare top of the shifter.

I just wanted to post a follow up on my previous post. I've been using the cassette adaptor for a few days now. I was initially impressed with it, but not so much anymore. It only sounds good with certain songs. For some songs, there is definitely something missing in the mid-band to the point where it just doesn't sound right. And for all songs, there is a "preponderance of bass, perhaps?"
The cassette adaptor is a good solution if you really don't care too much about how the music sounds, but just want to be able to play your music through your stereo and not spend a lot of money doing it (less than $10). However, if you're looking for clear full sound, you might want to look elsewhere.
That brings me to my next question. I plugged an ipod shuffle into the cassette adaptor. The shuffle only has a jack for the headphones, and that's where you plug in the audio out cable. Does Vaistech make a unit that allows for both an integrated ipod/iphone connection as well as a simple aux connection?
