Default I Might Have Screwed Up!!

Ok so I was taking the old plates off my Hybrid GS and was putting the dealership plates on my Hybrid GS, well I was tightening and tightned to hard and it snapped the screw So now the screw part is stuck inside the screw hole. Anyone can help me as to what I can do. These were plastic screws.

Drill it out or use an "easy out"

plastic screw... melt it out. LOL j/k

I would try to make a flat cut and use a flat screw driver to unscrew it.

Put a tiny drill bit, and let the bit melt it out

heat a small screw driver and poke it in the remaining thread (heat it only enough to melt it's way in) - let it cool and then back it out.

I just came up with a great idea! Use a regular soldiering iron pencil tip inside and just burn the plastic.

There should be some screw holders. Mine has those. Should be able to remove those and replace. By the way congrats on the F-Sport.

The ones work just like the platic you put into a regular wall so that screws wont punch through the wall. They are called nut starters or screw holders. Anyway, my license plate hole have those. Not sure if yours do.

^ no ours are part of the trunk, possible welded on. You would have to drill them out to replace with what your referring to. Common to see this happen on cars from the midwest where the screw/bolt gets rusted in.

Those drill bits should do the trick. I had to use them for the first time on a metal bolt on my mother in laws car and was shocked how easy it was. Older car I might add.
