Default GS300 Brake Pads, with better bite/feel

Looking for anyone that has stepped up a level from OE ceramic dustless pads to something with better feel/bite.

My search on CL has yielded the opinion that the Hawk Ceramic is overtaxed for the AWD GS.

Also, that there may be a more aggressive OE pad than the stock ceramics. Is this true?

I've been considering the Akebono Performance Ceramics and even Hawk HPS.

Thoughts/experiences please!!!

Well I have heard that Akebono makes the toyota pads so you would essentially be getting the same thing at a cheaper price.

I have the pep boys ceramic pads, and to me they brake better and have less dust then factory pads. It's called the prostops

At what mileage did you have to replace the pads?

How is the noise level?

I replaced all the pads when I purchased the car used, so I only used oem for about 2k miles. I also replaced the pads (prostops) on my IS250 that I traded in for the GS.

They do make 2 squeals, when they are cold in the mornings. Once you hit the pedal a few times it goes away. But other then that, no noise whatsoever

Well, I'm going Hawk HPS. I'll report back. ;-)

I'm running IS F wheels and Conti DW tires... and I don't give a crap about dust. Trying to get a bit better feel out of these brakes, and I think I can get there.

Because I'm about to have twins and I don't care about sourcing the calipers and all the equipment. Thats more of a pain in the *** than its worth to me and don't have time for it anyways.

These brakes work just fine, I just want some pads with a bit more bite and a higher temp threshold.
