I don't really care that much for staggered. Its not a big deal to me. I just like my cars to to slightly different then everyone else. So out of everyone on here that has rims. Nobody knows if there is any way that I would be able to tell if these rims will clear the brake caliper in the front?

stock wheel for gs450h: 245/40/18, +45 offset, 18x8 wheel size

your wheel choice: 20x8.5, +35 offset, assume you are using 245/30/20 tires

now use the wheel calculator i posted in the last page:

you will not have any problems or clearance issues (if it clears suspension, it should clear the brakes as well). stick the numbers into the calculator to see for yourself.

if you plan on lowering and going with different tire sizes, then that's a different story and more research is needed to see what fits. look at the wheel specs and tire sizes that 3GS peeps post up and read their comments about rubbing issues (if any). this will give you a good idea what will or will not fit.

I ran TSW 20x8.5 +40 on my 07 GS350 and it cleared the front brakes just fine. I also ran a 225/35/20 tire on it without issues and i was lowered almost 2 inches. Hope that helps.

So if mine are only +35. Does that mean it will be closer to the caliper then?

i did a little research for you.

heres your answer in a nutshell

the wheels will rub in the front. 35mm will work on the 300 but not on the 350 brakes. if you use a 35mm offset, you'll need a 5mm spacer to clear the 350 calipers

the tire size is incorrect, buy a 245/30/20

Thanks so much. I really appreciate all of your help. But why do I have to go 245 instead of 225 and why do I have to use 30 instead of 35?

So I guess it will be easier if I look for a rim that already has a +40 offset?

Yes it will! Lower offset means the wheel will sit closer to the hub which may cause your brakes to rub in which may also cause your tires to rub becaue of the height. Is better to go with setup the CL members recommended or use the wheel calculator. If you go with a lower offset you may need spacers such as IXI187IXI recommended. Bottom line!

you live in canada so i assume its an awd version correct? if so you really want to keep the overall diameter as close as stock as possible. 245/30/20 is pretty much dead on for 20s that match the stock sizes. if you go with something different it will throw off the speedo and milage. not by much (well depends on how drastic the size difference is) but it will effect it.

What about them in staggered setup?

I can run a staggered setup without having to make any other modifications?

My GS is black. Besides throwing off my speedo a little bit. Will it make any big difference putting 225 35 20 as to 245 30 20? It wont harm anthing like suspension or any components will it?

245/30/20 will put close to stock I have 235/30/20 with 255/30/20 in the rear staggered fitment 20x9 and 20x10.5 in the rear and my speedo is dead on. as far as offset go for 350/BBK to fit you have to run high disk in the front to fit over 07-12 350/460 brake.

I would say if you are going to mod your car then mod it and don't worry about your warranty. If you plan on lowering your car anyways then just do it and understand what you are doing to the car suspension along with the wheel size also. The car is designed to be set at a certain height and run certain tires that how it was designed and that what they will warranty on unless you have a great service writer who willing to help you out, which must of us mod guys do. The don't see to many modded 3gen GS and when they come in as long is not a abusive problem you should be able to get it fixed.
