So, I did something about my seat cushion (lots of pics)
This isn't a DIY thread, but an inside-look at how the seat cushion is replaced.
Over time, the driver's seat cushion (bottom) had become rather flaccid. In comparison to the passenger seat, it was worn. I wanted that 'feel' back. So... I did it.
I've also noticed that my cooled-seat function works a bit better!
I got a really good deal from my guy, Kevin (parts manager), at Tom Wood Lexus, here in Indianapolis (seriously a great dealership). It took me about 5 or 6 hours to do this, but only because I was taking my time. The only real tools you need are a set of screw drivers, and 2 pairs of needle nose pliers.
Enjoy the pics...
Notice the air pump for the cooled seats. Pretty cool.
The new cushion! Notice how it is dual density... the blue and the tan. BOTH wear out.
You can clearly see the holes where the air is blown through the seat.
The leather and heated seat element have steel bars that are held tight together with these little O-rings/clamps. You have to expand and then close them together. (thus the need for 2 sets of needle nose pliers).
All goes back together and looks as good as it feels!
Comments/questions welcome!

Taking the cushion off of the seat frame (and putting it back on) was not the arduous part. The little metal rings were what consumed the most amount of time.

Theres a little trick you can do to add more AC cooling in the seat. If you look in the bottom rear of the seat (over the rear floor mats) You should be able to see the cooling portion of it. A number of IS members did this mod, and im sure you can find the thread somewhere. What they did was take cardboard or plastic and wedged it into the seat, therefor adding more air flow to the seat. I wonder if it is the same for the GS.

Very nice! Quick question...what exactly am I looking at in picture number 7? Does the piece in your hand lay on top of the replaced pads or underneath? I ask because I am not at all impressed with the seat heating in my 08 GS (air flow is just fine though), and was wondering how deep the heating element is. Thank you!
