"Check AWD"
Can anyone please explain to me why this warning indicator comes on but there are no associated MIL codes? This is currently happening to my 2008 GS 350. "Check AWD" is displayed on the info panel with the red ! light and a chime as soon as the car is started and does the "Check Complete" routine.
At first, I thought it was an emissions or O2 sensor problem based on some Google research, but now I'm not so convinced as one would expect an associated OBD-II code.
Then I started to suspect a wheel speed/ABS sensor, but the light comes on even before I put the car in gear.
The local Lexus dealership could not find the root cause of this with all their Lexus scanning equipment. They said it might have to do with the fuel door or evap canister. They also could not clear the light. Any additional work would have started costing $$$$, so I backed out of the dealership option.
I'm out of warranty, so this will be on me to fix. Any suggestions would be of great help.
Thanks!

not sure but i would guess a wheel speed sensor as well. its not the gas cap as if thats bad it will read check VSC.
did you try disconnecting the battery for a couple hours? I know sometimes it takes the system a while to get rid of lights because there is a certain amount of cycles it needs to go through before it clears itself.

Im sure you will need a high end scanner to scan a wheel sensor. Best bet is the dealer, or you can try cleaning all the sensors and the wire connections. May just be a faulty connection.
