Default Vaistech ????

Hi guys,

So my tape deck has pretty much crapped out on me, making a terrible noise. The sound quality sucks anyway, been running a tape convertor to iphone. Anyway, time for an upgrade (hopefully)...I have been looking at vaistech and just want to make sure I understand the compatibility issues. I have a 2006 GS 430 with ML/ NAV.

The multimediaLinQ will not have any video integration, correct? So basically my nav unit will work same and I will be able to control everything from my phone, should be noted that I have an iphone 5!! http://www.vaistech.com/dev/mml.php

The second option is the sounlinQ2, I couldnt find a lot of info on installs specific to 06 GS 430 ML. Anybody shine some light on this one?

Any other options out there???

Much appreciated

I would get the Vaistech, it worked great when I had my 3GS and I never had a problem with it. The VaisTech works really good with the system and is easy to setup on your own.

Which Vaistech did you install? What year was ur 3GS? Do you have the ML upgrade? I have read both that the multimediaLinq video integration will work and will not work w ML??

Thanks

Get the Vaistech I have the isimple but I've read the vtech is better. The multimedia only works with 07 and above GS. It's not compatible with our unit.

Vaistech is better yes. Search around on eBay or amazon for the ISimple. You could probably purchase for around $100. I have ML.

I had the SoundLinQ2 (SL2Vi) installed, I had it installed on my 06 GS 300 and my 07 GS 450h both had Mark Levinson. I have not gotten the hard drive one.

Ok guys I appreciate the feedback. I went ahead and purchsed the Multimedialinq. After speaking to someone at Vaistech, I am going to attempt to install this myself as he said it was easy. Where does everybody mount the unit at?

You can easly tuck it under your head unit. Once you pull it out, you'll see there is plenty of room. You just have to figure out where to run the ipod wire. There area couple of vids on here.
