Default GS350 blk/blk clear coat failure?

My hood and trunk looks like it got some clear flaking i can feel-ish with my fingers, could it be clear coat failure? It's a 2010 i got it only afew months ago... will post up pics tomorrow morning.

edit: i haven't done anything to the paint with my buffer n stuff yet due to work n laziness so i don't think i did anything to have caused this..

taken with a s4 camera phone..

Ok the paint doesnt look bad, just need to be freshened up.

The 1st pic is clearcoat damage, looks like bird poop or some thing that ate through the clear coat. This is not repairable unless you repaint.
2nd pic looks like a water spot
3rd pic the pic doesnt show the damage very well

But in all 3 photos you have very bad paint swirls, its a lack of proper care and cleaning. I would take it to detail shop that does paint correction. Youll need to buff and polish the paint, and then use a good wax or sealer. Every other month youll want to wax the car or if you used a good sealent, seal the car every 3-4 months.

I have the proper product/tools to do that... would it be ok if I just ignore that part n clay/buff/polish/waxseal the car or I will have to get it fixed? I thought this car was a 1stage paint with no clear

Yes you can just compound and polish, no need to repaint. The paint on our cars is a base coat and clear coat it is not a single stage paint. The paint defects you see are in the clear coat.

MX 7 works great on water spots, proper waxing and polishing will remove the swirl marks ,your hood looks like mine after I wash it. Meguires also makes a swirl remover and their " show car glaze" works for my black GS

Glazes or sealing over swirls or scratchs is temporary. Its best to cut with compound first, then polish.

I highly doubt they would cover this as this is clearcoat damage from what appears to be some sort chemical broke down the clear. Most likely bird dropping
