Rear Caliper Issue
#46
When was the last time you bled or flushed your brake system?
I've bled my brakes in the past and thought it was good. The fluid didnt seem that much darker than the new fluid I had put in.
I did it again with a pressure bleeder and 12 oz of brake fluid and it was markedly firmer afterwards. Sometimes you just have to put a good amount of fluid through to get any result.

Guys just a piece of advise, grease your pins and dont use any grease other than the OEM, the rubber may get swollen. use the following grease part# 08887-01206 which can also be used for piston seal and cylinder boot.

Hey guys, I'm having some issues with the rear brakes on my GS350 not engaging until the pedal is past 3/4 of the way down:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8c97m_x9u8
I opened up the rear brakes and both lower slide pins were rusted and seized. I had to use a hammer to get those calipers off.
I sanded and relubed the pins, and checked that the pistons move freely and they do.
However, I'm still having the same issue, the rear brakes don't engage until the pedal is almost floored.
While driving the pedal doesn't feel too spongy or soft, the front brakes can lock up and stop the car just fine. It gets very dangerous in the slightest bit of snow, where the fronts lock up completely while the rear is still pushing the car, and it basically turns into an un-steerable sled.
Anyone else come across a similar issue?

My lower rear caliper pins are frozen solid. Can't rotate the caliper. I took out the bolt. I doubt the VSC is doing much. Top cross pins look pretty bad too. Pads also look like they have very little use on them. I noticed it was pretty crappy in the snow too. It is really a safety issue, especially with AWD. It is almost working against the ABS, just letting the wheel roll.
I don't know if that is the full problem with not being able to move the car with one wheel but it is not good.

I got a remanufactured brake caliper pair for 06 IS350 from advance part. The pin seized on me again after 2 years, 20k miles
I'm not very confident to go back to 06 OEM brake calipers again. I know IS-F rear calipers can fit and some people put on, it's hard to find and they are expensive. What else brake calipers can we use? I don't mind changing the rotors to match.
Can 3rd gen IS350/IS250 work? are they different from 2nd gen? do they have pin seize issue? what other cars's calipers will fit? I hate to kill my brake rear pads / rotors when this thing fails.
