Japanese to english now available!
An old thread, but the solution is now here!
I'm from Car Audio Workshop, and for anyone that comes across this, we can now convert the 2004 - 2009 Japanese GS HDD systems to full English. It works for all models, hybrid, non hybrid, all specs. We even have labels made by a graphics business made to go over the Japanese buttons. At the moment, the navigation can't be changed/won't work, but the system becomes 100% English, giving you full access as if it was NZ or AU spec, other than nav. I have been working on this for some time, and finally released it a few weeks ago.
As far as I can tell, this is a world first for the Gen 5 Japanese HDD version!

Just to note, we can do the other Lexus models also, IS range, LS range, and also the Toyota Crown and Mark X HDD systems, all with the Gen 5 Navi systems.
