Pay the $500 and rebuild ECU. You can maybe check ebay and see if they have ECU's on there. How do they even determine there is a fried ECU?

$300 is a great price! I'd do it lol.... that's pocket change compared to what you'd pay for a new ECU.

I don't know what you mean by marry the ecu to the car.... If it's the same model, it should be PnP

Im not sure if the vehicle ecu controls the transmission or if there is a separate ecu for that. If the main ecu, most likely you will need to take it to the dealer to reprogram as I am sure theres alarm and key coding and many other vehicle specifics are needed for your car to fire up.

Try mounting the used ecu and see if it start or not, if not leave the old one until you arrive at the dealership this way you will not have to tow your car

Sent out ECU for repair per tranny guy, ECU repair guy says perfectly fine, up to manufacture's specs.. Now the tranny guy say it's possible that it's the harness to solenoid. But before he said that the ohm's and voltage is fine from ECU to solenoid.. I'm fed up

Hey!! Well, long story short.... It's the MAIN ECU.. nothing else... Don't let them con you into replacing trans.. I went through that.. But make sure it's done at dealer where you get lifetime warranty..
