Default Birds Eye View on Navi??

Just bought my first Lexus, it's an '08 GS350 with navi. My question is this- where is the setting in the navi to change from 'Map View' to a birds eye view? A view behind the car would be good too. I have to consciously think about wether the next turn will be a left or right turn. All navi units I've had in the past all show what's next in the same direction of travel.

If your nav is like mine you could just push the plus sign and zoom in .... also when your using the navigation it should show somewhere on the screen if you will be turning left, right etc. sorry if this didn't answer your question .

I'm hoping there's a setting or screen I haven't found yet that'll let me toggle between the 'map view' and a birds eye view.

No birds eye view that you are thinking of (I am assuming you are thinking of the one like in an Infiniti) in the Lexus Navi...

Found it! The button in the upper left toggles the map orientation from north up (N with 1 triangle) to heads up/direction of travel (2 triangles at 10 & 4 o'clock).

Thats what I thought when I heard "Birds Eye View."

They were just looking for north up I guess.

^ I got it after I read "I have to consciously think about wether the next turn will be a left or right turn".
