Is anyone running V speed rated tires on their 3GS with 18s?

since 99% of the time I go strait, I would trade the stiffness A LITTLE for softer to absorb the bumps and withstanding potholes. Would be nicer if it add more grip.

I can tell my DWS is a little worn cause it slips a bit. Plenty of thread but it still slip. All 3 letters DWS are still fully visible on the thread.

My point exactly. If V grips a little less than Y but takes the edge/harshness out of the ride, then it's worth the trade off (without having to go to a completely different category of tire like a grand touring all season which will ride completely differently).

Pretty sure my summer (all season) tires are W rated.

Here's the thing. You can't have it all. It's a compromise. And I'm willing to compromise some handling to take the harsh edge off the tires. If going from a 97y to a 97v will do that, then it's worth the switch. If not, then obviously it's not.

And back to the question as to whether you can feel then difference between a V and a Y rated tire, if there is no difference in feel, then why wouldn't everyone just save the money and get the lower rated tires (assuming it complies with their cars minimum rating).
For the record, the Continental PureContacts, last I checked, handled better than Primacy's, they're supposedly louder, but I don't see a difference as I blast my music everywhere I go.

Same comfort too, but handles almost the same imo. I get no deep rolls when doing sharp turns. I'm on air though, with BCR struts.... if that's any consolation.

Darnit, gotta make a decision in the next day or two.

To recap, currently have Pilot Sport A/S 3 in 245 40 18 in 97Y.

Dealer is looking into getting me:

Old stock of A/S Plus in 245 40 18 in 93Y
Pilot Sport A/S 3 in 245 40 18 in 97V
Primacy MXM4 in 235 45 18 in 94V

Or I could always go back to Serenity Plus in 245 40 18 in 93W.

I am wiling to sacrifice the harsh ride for some loss in handling.
