A huge thanks to the OP and for the great info posted in this thread. Swapped out the wp on my 07 GS450h. A heads up to those looking to do this on theirs, get the right belt as it's different(shorter) than the GS350 and you DO NOT need the idler pulley. The 450h doesn't have it as there is also no alternator. I also had issues with the o-ring on the water inlet housing. The one included with my waterpump was slightly missized and I ended up having to get a universal one to replace. Also for those thinking not to drain their coolant, it can be done but will be unnecessarily messy. If I were to do it again, I would just drain off a good portion of the coolant to simplify things. Hope this helps someone and thanks again guys!

This thread was a great help, thanks!
Does anyone have the number of just the water inlet gasket that goes on the tube up top near the radiator cap? After two weeks I sprung a leak there and bought a box of random o-rings from the auto store. So far the one I found that fit is working, but for peace of mind I'd like to know the official number in case it leaks again.

finally did this on my 08 is250. I did the fill and drain method. I tired to do the fill and replace method but when I checked the level, no fluid came out so I had to add more fluid and then drain the excess. I used a scan gauge II tool and did the drain at 102 degrees until the flow was a thin stream and then I replaced the plug.

Currently have 124,900 miles (Purchased at 93k miles 5 years ago) on the car. Not sure if the waterpump had ever been replaced so I figure it'll be a great preventive maintenance.
Did a complete overhaul;Although I have a few questions regarding a slight difference between the water pumps.
In the old picture, the part that bolts onto the Pulley is circular. Whereas the new waterpump, it's somewhat of a flower shape. Should I be concerned? It's the exact part number ordered from amazon (sold by Aisin) WPT-137.
Also noticed some oil build up, however I never burn or lose oil in between oil changes. (Maybe the previous owner was bad at pouring oil into the engine and spilled everywhere??)
Discovered a ton of extra gasket maker inside the waterpump system which seems to somewhat disturb the water flow so I removed some (pictures below)

Toyota owns a huge share of Aisan stocks, they make the parts for toyota/lexus. Notice how the toyota name is ground off that water pump, but the pump is brand new not reconditioned. The part you bought is oem but just through an "aftermarket" so I wouldnt be worried, if anything youre getting an improved superseded parts. I have 70k miles on my aisin pump and still going strong.

Something odd was that only one and 1/4 gallon was used to fill up the radiator and reservoir. I assumed it would hold much more granted I didn't remove/drain from the engine block itself and only drained from the radiator.
I also went with OEM/toyota serpentine belt because my buddy works at Longo and was able to give me his employee discount

Awesome pics. I'll need to do mine soon. I'm at 150k on the stock water pump.
Did you use the distilled water with the pre-mixed coolant? You shouldn't have to since the coolant was pre-mixed.

Water pump sealant
Hi. I recently replaced my water pump on my 2009 GS350. I noticed however the new pump is leaking around the seal. I was told by the guy at the auto store to use the sealant so i applied it. However after i noticed the leak around the new pump i researched and saw a article saying that the newer gaskets dont require sealant and that it could cause a leak around the seal. Was wondering did you apply any to yours or you just installed the gasket alone?
