Thanks, so from the info I gathered the 12mm bolts make co fact with the glycol (coolant) that’s why there was and RTV type thread sealer on there. Only two of the 10mm bolts required blue loctite or thread locker. Which is different from a thread sealant.

So I picked up some permatex gasket maker. Which is a grey RTV similar to what was on the factory bolts.

Have a look at the bolts as they came out of the water pump

The 12mm bolts definitely had a non thread locker type RTV on them. That’s why I used the Permatex

I torqued the 10mm bolts to 81 inch lbs and the 12mm bolts to 180 inch lbs (15ft lbs)

I also noticed some cracks on the radiator inlet. Which I will replace the radiator after seeing these.

so just adding to the project. It’s ok though just glad I noticed it.

The process of the water pump on 3GS (350 engine) is same as the 2IS (250/350). I did a DIY video of the install on my IS250 with parts lists.

See links below for the parts you need. Mostly all OEM.

Only one I recommend aftermarket is the Bando or Mitsobushi belt. These go for $13 all day but OEM is $60 for same thing.

OEM Water Pump (~$95, 2019 which is a little more than Aisin on Rock Auto or Amazon)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/FACTORY-OEM-TOYOTA-LEXUS-IS-GS-RC-NEW-ENGINE-WATER-PUMP-16100
AISIN (OEM with toyota shaved off) on Amazon for $88 Prime, https://www.amazon.com/Aisin-WPT-137-Engine-Water-Pump

OEM 3GS Lower Hose (~$20, 2019)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/FACTORY-OEM-LEXUS-06-11-GS430-GS350-NEW-LOWER-RADIATOR-HOSE
(on Amazon via JP Genuie, https://www.amazon.com/Lexus-16572-31380-Radiator-Coolant-Hose)

OEM 3GS Upper Hose (~$30, 2019, don't make my mistake with aftermarket which requires cutting to length)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/FACTORY-OEM-LEXUS-06-11-GS430-GS350-NEW-UPPER-RADIATOR-HOSE
(on Amazon via JP Genuie, https://www.amazon.com/Lexus-16572-31380-Radiator-Coolant-Hose)

Bando Belt (~$13, definately do aftermarket if its Bando or Mitsobushi, which are OEM suppliers. OEM belt is $60))
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Serpentine-Belt-Rib-Ace-Precision-Engineered-V-Ribbed-Belt-BANDO-7PK1550
(or on Amazon for $19, https://www.amazon.com/BANDO-7PK1550)

OEM Thermostat ($55, 2019)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/FACTORY-OEM-TOYOTA-LEXUS-WATER-INLET-SUB-ASSY-WITH-THERMOSTAT-16031-31020
(AISIN version on Amazon Prime for $36, https://www.amazon.com/AISIN-THT-004-THERMOSTAT)

OEM Toyota Extra Long Life Coolant (~$47 for two pack, 2019...you can get this locally at dealer, have them price match eBay, most will do it)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-2-Gallon-Toyota-Super-Long-Life-Antifreeze-Coolant

Also on Amazon for $10 more, https://www.amazon.com/TOYOTA-OEM-COOLANT

Enjoyed the thread. Helpful. Thank you. One item of note is the use of water. Use of the 50:50 OEM mix is usually best, but know that over time, a long time, the ratio will change to more and more water; that's why you see recommended change intervals. Electrolysis in the cooling system can occur, leading to accelerated corrosion and other issues. https://www.freeasestudyguides.com/electrolysis.html
