Sounds like something that BMW is known to do. BMW always has ecu updates to fix their tranny problems

I spoke to ta1972 and he had the same problem I was having which is a hard clunk when coming to a stop as the car get below 10mph now if you are having this same problem and having hard shifting then the problem is not your transmission its your main ECU. Like you I too went to Lexus for them to check the car out and the told me my transmission need to be replace...so I got a used one and ended up with the same problem and was getting frustrated. I ended up talking to Ta1972 and replacing the ECU and now my car drives like its brand new.

They have to take responsibility for that. If they can't help you, then you would need to find out your ecu part number. You would have to get the exact part number to marry it to the car.
Pm me if you need some advice.
I have the same problem with the jerky transmission when coming to a stop.

Did you say you replaced the ECU and it fixed the problem. I have a 2006 Lexus gs300 .

No Lexus was very adamant that the transmission was the problem and wanted me to replace it. So I ending buying the ECU from them with my shop discount it's about $1200 without it it $1550 ...and it solve my problem.

My 2006 gs300 jerks as well when coming to a stop, usually a soft one then a hard jerk. I took it to the shop today they think its the transmission but it shifts and drives fine only when stopping. Any thoughts anyone?

It's not the transmission, replace the Ecu.
The Ecu runs about 1400-1500 , and a 130.00 for installation.

You need to replace your main ecu , I have a 2006 Gs300 with the same problem.

The Ecu is about 1400, and the installation is about 130.00 including programming.

Default 2006 Lexus gs430 jerks hard when coming to a stop

I took My 2006 lexus GS430 Lexus of Greenville In Greenville sc Had a harsh jerk when coming to a stop. I took it to lexus and the said it was the transmission. I hold the service advisor that i was reading a post, from lexus forum that the ECU was the cause. He came back an hour later and said the TEC said it was the transmission. I was sceptical. He said it will cost around 5000 to fix it. My mind was saying the are taking advantage of me. Well i let them do the work. (GUESS WHAT NEXT AFTER THEY PUT A 5000 TRANSMISSION IN IT) They came back and said it need a (ECU) I told them that i said that before you cost me 5000 for nothing. Needless to say it was another 1700 for the ECU. It ended up costing 6,700 for the total fix.

If you have the same problem with the transmission, has a harsh jerk shifting when you come to a stop, DO NOT LET LEXUS TELL YOU IT THE TRANSMISSION, DO THE ECU FIRST.They will tell you anything to get to sell you the repair work.

feel free to to ask me any questions.

Man I would call Lexus Customer Care at 1-800-255-3987 and open a case regarding this. They may reimburse some of your costs. It's worth a try! I just went through an ordeal with my GS 350 and had to replace the engine. They gave me $2000 service credit to cover the labor.
