New owner to 08 Lexus GS 350
Hello All,
I just bought an 08 Lexus GS 350 with 48k on it and thought i'd introduce myself to the forum members. This is my first lexus and so far its quite different than my bimmers that i've owned over the years. I am definitely enjoying the smooth ride as well as hoping that it would be a lot more reliable over the years than my other cars (though i did get a warranty just in case). . Hope to learn little tricks and diy's from the car gurus here on the forum.
Thanks.

Congrats on your new ride Did you end up with a Lexus warranty or 3rd party?
I'm actually in the market for a similar car (2008-2011). I've been looking for 3 months and it's been tough to find a good one in my area. The last couple of days I was actually thinking about a 2011 335i xDrive with M Sport that I just saw advertised out of desperation, but I really was hoping to buy a Lexus this time round. I just don't know how long I can hold off.
I posted a thread the other day that has a link to an article which is a review of the GS.There are several links in the article that are threads in this forum that might be useful information to you.

Hey thanks. Yes i went with the lexus warranty since i bought the car from a Toyota dealership. Its funny cos i saw another GS 350 and 09 with 42k miles going for 4k more than mine. I checked out your link. Good link for cross referencing of the past work done on the car.
For you choice of 335i xDrive, its a good car and based on what your requirements are should fulfill it nicely. For me i wanted something that was smooth, comfortable and reliable. Now i know there have been a bunch of recalls and a few issues, i am hoping that mine isn't one of them. Also the warranty gives me a peace of mind.
If you really want to pick up a GS then try looking at different dealers. Sometimes you can get a great deal from them just cos they got the car as a trade in and wants to do a quick turn around.

Also, i just got back my car for the DLG recall. I do however feel that my car is a abit quieter than before and thankfully no squeaks. Knock on wood.

Ironman,
The dlg recall is where the dealer replaces the cams and a few seals in the car. My car is an 08. Hope this helps. Search for dlg lexus and it gives a description about the recall.

Drew,
I got the Smokey mica granite color. Love that color. The car has everything except for mark legion and sunshade. It came with chrome wheels which I don't like and am hoping that I could exchange it with someone later on from this board.
