I broke something inside the gas cap lid
The other day I was pumping gas and accidentally slammed my gas cap door a little too hard and I heard something break. I opened the lid again and a little black piece with a metal inside had fallen off. Now when I drive around it says "Close Gas Cap Lid." Does anyone know the part name/number and how I should go about replacing it?

how does that even...... *sigh* no matter how hard u close the lid that should have happened 
Very unfortunate...
They are closed now, but call Sewell Lexus, the people there are VERY VERY nice, and really easy to deal with, best dealership hands down that helped me even though there was a part listed that they didnt' have in database.
Tell them your gas lid sensor broke because u slammed the gas lid too hard.

Very unfortunate...
They are closed now, but call Sewell Lexus, the people there are VERY VERY nice, and really easy to deal with, best dealership hands down that helped me even though there was a part listed that they didnt' have in database.

As far as how it broke, I'm not exactly sure why it did. It's just a part that opens and closes. lol.

hot damn! I didn't know that!
I went through their whole catalogue with no luck brother..... I guess only choice u have is to call'em lol.....
Sewell was a real pleasure to deal with! I've never caught anyone at the dealership that was willing to help so much
