Vaistech MML doesnt work?..
Tried to connect the mml unit today. Seems pretty easy but for some reason it doesn't want to work?MB i am doing something wrong?
First of all i unplugged the plug from the back of the unit and connected with the mml harness. The second plug from harness i connected to the back of the head unit...The problem is that when i turn the car on the mml doesn't light up the yellow led.I don't know what could be wrong as it is only 3 plugs to connect/disconnect. Did u guys have similar problem?
I have japanese gs430 car and dont have CD changer.

I installed a Vaistech MML unit in my 450h with ML.
Did you get the correct harness? If you follow with included instructions, it also tells you how to initialize the unit with your sound system.
This doesn't give you connection help, but it might help you in where to place the unit:

I don't have ml or cd changer. But I can play md(not sure if have me changer). It also looks like the 12 pin plug which I unplug from the radio doesn't do anything to it?like everything works without this plug.

I tried to set up a md emulation. However, I can not see any led light on the unit itself. It looks like it doesnt get any power or something like that. I also noticed that the 12 pin connector doesnt make any difference to the head unit(i plug in and out and havent noticed any difference?)
MY car is a japanese import and doesnt have a cd changer or ml. Instead it has mini disk player and HDD where i can store the music. Unit i bought is MML-T1.
I also tried to set up a cd emulation, not an mp3 as mps is supported in the 5th generation of the head units which is 2007+ year. Checked numerous number of threads regarding the issue I do experience , but non of them has a solution...

so your car is 2006 with gen4 nav? if so, i guess you can only try cd and md emulation.
you are using the 12pin connector to the radio? i thought for older lexus (forgot about gen4) you need to stick to the 20pin (larger) connector? 12-pin is mostly for toyota unless you have the gen5 setup?
i can't remember exactly on the mml but i think if you are programming it, you should see led. do you hear any beeps (make sure beeping is enabled on the car)?

We haven't tested our unit with Japanese model, so we don't know. I'm
sorry. Most likely it's compatible, but just can't give you 100%
guarantee.
Are able to hear any beeps coming from the unit? Make sure you are on
AM source when you try to program the unit. You can also try to
disconnect the main power harness if yellow LED isn't lid up and then
plug it back in. It should reset the unit and force it into the
programming.
Ok. Just like I said before, we can't guarantee a 100% compatibility
with Japanese spec Lexus. We do have 20 pin harnesses if you would
like to try it. Just let me know.
Most of the new Lexus models have both 12 and 20 on them starting
2005, so this is normal. We would normally use 12 pin for connection
if we can.

it's possible, i really forgot what year the switch happened. just thinking of possibilities. but if you should see led and not seeing anything, i think that's something to confirm with vaistech and see if you are actually getting power on the mml?
