How do I replace the belt tensioner assembly?
I messed up. I was replacing the water pump and trying to get the tensioner pulley out of the way and I went the wrong way and snapped it off. I found the part from rock auto, but how the heck do I get to it? It looks like I have to remove the AC condenser. Does anyone have diagrams for getting to the tensioner assembly?

That's all quite easy, the problem is the tensioner pulley is broken. In trying to remove the pulley, I went the wrong way with the breaker bar and broke the metal that the tensioner pulley screws in to. I need to know how to replace the tensioner pulley assembly. I believe it entails removing the aC unit.

If you have to take off the ac compressor and brackets it is not difficult and you do not have to release the freon in the system. Just unbolt it, and use a wire to hang the compressor so it doesnt bend and break the ac lines.

I did the same thing this weekend, i ordered a new bolt from lexus. cost $3. not sure if you broke the tensioner itself or just the bolt that holds the pulley onto it. you won't find this reverse thread bolt on websites all they show is the tensioner as a unit. i had to call them to get the bolt.
