i don't think the drop in filter will increase sound much...

It won't. It'll increase flow, but that's it.

Not yet. I had just replaced mine with the oem ones. I'm planning on buying the F Sport intake with the filter though. I like the noise and I'm a big fan of the blue. Gonna use a matching color and change the little stuff under the hood.

On another note, my brother has a K&N intake on his S13 and it sure does make noise. But when he cleans it, it literally takes about 6 hours to dry it off because you have to let it "dry naturally". Even with the heat in Texas that's ridiculous.

Honestly, you're better to just use a stock filter and keep less dirt out of the motor. Engine longevity > Noise.

i went into the dealership today to buy the F sport drop in filter then changed my mind again last minute… you guys are right its kind of a waste of money. i was thinking it'll pay for itself in about 40,000 miles…then said forget it! haha
