Default Best Intake for under $200?

ive searched for a few intakes and looks like the top ones are $500+. im only looking to spend around $200 for an intake, so for this price what is the best for the gs300? am i better off just buying a k&n drop in?

yea just buy k&n air filter drop in. seems like no intake for gs300. intake wont give u much advantage anyway, except sound effect.

What can you gain from a drop in filter? I'm assuming there won't be any difference in tone and the extremely small, if any, power increase will only allow more dirt/particles into your engine.

I've experimented with sooo many intakes on sooo many different cars over the years and the only thing I've ever gained was extra dirt in my motors.

even the dealer told me to just replace the stock drop filters when recommended… i was fighting with him to buy the Fsport drop in… he kept telling me its not worth it!

funny cause they don't think its worth it. I've also heard people have problems with the K and N with the MAF sensor getting messed up...

Like horsepower gains?? No.

Run your car on a dyno with the stock filter/intake. Remove the entire assembly and run the car on the dyno with no filter. That's your best possible increase which will be +/- 1-3hp which will vary on the dyno from run to run anyways.

The noise will be the only gain you will experience.

Usually because people put too much oil on the K&N filter after cleaning it. TBH I'd take the F Sport drop in filter over the K&N for about $10 more. F sport drop in doesn't need to be oiled. Less room for error plus cleaning it is much quicker.

even the max 3HP gain won't add any noticeable difference in performance…

it'll be cheaper to buy a exhaust sound CD or tape to play inside the car to increase inside the mind horsepower…you'll have to do more than an intake to get more performance out of our GS. intakes are good for civics. our cars already produce a lot of horses...
