NO power steering after O2 sensor replaced
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...placement.html
I had the P0430 code come up in my 06 GS300 AWD so i changed both passenger side 02 sensors. i followed the above instructions on changing the pre-cat sensor, changed my 02 sensor plugged everything back up and the P/S light came on and i lost power steering. i unplugged and checked everything at least 10 times until i finally gave up and gave it to lexus today. been about a week though driving without power steering.
i know i did everything right and plugged everything snug. Has this happened to anyone else before? or did my P/S just decide to die?
still waiting on a verdict from Lexus

nice. i would like to know the answer to… i don't believe the O2 sensor has anything to do with your power steering… was there still fluid in the reservoir ? maybe there was a leak and you just didn't notice… keep us updated. thanks

yeah, the power steering is electrical. i did just as the thread said to do, i disconnected everything and re-connected everything just the way it said to.
you have to remove the battery to get to the P/S module. this, as was written, makes it easier to get the the o2 sensor. i called the dealership moments ago and they still don't have any word yet on whats the culprit. i will keep you guys updated as things progress.

Dealer called and I went to pick up my car. So apparently the wire harness failed once I moved it from its place? The tech was gone so no one could give me a straight answer other than that. Car runs well again WITH power steering. Oh yeah, so I explained to my service rep what I did and when the tech read the notes he said you don't have to remove the battery to change the o2 sensor. They must do it from under the car because I don't see how it's possible with the battery there. Wish a tech was still there...oh well. So be careful when doing this, wire harness is sensitive? Lol. I know I didn't move it much...smh
